We’ve hit a significant milestone for The Birkenhead2020 Project – six months of the year have passed, which means we are half way through! We are well on target to complete the project on time, despite the Covid-19 lockdown. This doesn’t mean that you can’t volunteer to contribute photographs to the project and you can do so by clicking on the “Join Us” tab.

The weather has been a bit mixed, but there were a few glorious days of sunshine during June and we managed to get out on most of them 🙂 With the lockdown rules being relaxed, there are a lot more people out and about and it has been enjoyable chatting to the people we meet who are curious about the project.

There are now over 530 different streets with at least one photograph (but mostly with many more) and that leaves about 150 streets to go. There are over 6900 photographs in the archive – hopefully, this will prove to be a valuable resource for future historians.
